Car bailee bailment law liability towed and got tickets while under their care

My car was at the shop to be repaired; I was told to get a piece, when I got the piece and went to the repair shop I discovered my car had received multiple tickets and had been towed. Apparently they had given my keys to the car to someone else and claimed they were no longer liable for the car. Also they told me that I needed another piece, when I asked what piece it was I was told they did not know.

The original mechanic I had left the car under had gone on vacation (the owner of the shop) and would not be returning for a month. I would have to wait to speak to him to have the car repaired. Now it is a month later I have had to pay for the tickets as well as the tow from and back to the repair shop. As well as paying insurance on a car which I can not drive since they do not know the piece until the owner returns.
