In Sept of we purchased used black 2007 Sentra 6 speed manual transmission 4 door sedan.
When we were signing the purchase contract, the extra service contract $1845 was strongly recommended by the businessperson Billie. She insisted that it is important for the well being of our Nissan car to be taken care by the properly trained Nissan dealership technicians. Besides, the money (all of it, $1845) will be given back if we didnt use it at all. We looked over the service contract and tried to understand it. We questioned her very seriously that the contract didnt clearly state that we could get all the money back. She still assured us (by her word) that we could get it all back. She made it sound foolish not to buy this contract. (You could not lose.) So we decided to take her word. 20 months later, we sold the Sentra to another dealership for the better gas mileage car. About 8 weeks later we contacted our bank about the extra service contract we didnt use, just wondering if we had received our $1845 yet. They said we had, but the amount in our bank account was $1020. We phoned the dealership and demanded an explanation of why $1020, not $1845. Nissan dealership said it was prorated and the company provided that service went bankrupt. So, we learned that the Billie was totally deceiving us, or she had no idea that she was wrong. It is the dealerships negligence to educate that Billie properly. This type of business practice shouldnt be accepted. We are very disappointed about the lie and broken trust with terrible customer complaint handling techniques. We will never forget this experience and also never purchase a car from this dealership.
