Rip-off! Denial of legitimate claim. How is it my fault that foreign matter damaged the engine?

My 1997 Isuzu Rodeo was bought 2 years ago with an extended warranty. The vehicle broke down and it was brought back to the dealer to get fixed. The dealer told me that they spoke with the warranty company and it would cost $1300 just to take the engine apart diagnose the problem. After a week and dozens of phone calls to the dealer, I was told that some kind of foreign material got in the combustion chamber which damaged the inside of the engine.

The dealership in turn called the warranty company to come and inspect the problem. After another week and several more phone calls, I was told that the claim for repairs was denied. I than called the warranty company for an explanation and was told that in their opinion a spark plug could have been replaced and the vehicle would have been good to go!!!

When I told the dealership about that conversation, they told me the total opposite stating that the entire engine was shot and the estimate to replace it would be near $10,000. I went into the dealer to speak with the service manager and he assured me that he would speak with the warranty company and "see what he could do".

I have obtained the pistons, plugs, and valves from the damaged parts of the engine along with some pictures of the damage and have also obtained the official report from the warranty company stating what the inspector found when he looked at the vehicle.

Another week has now gone by and I have not received a call back from either party. As of May 11th it has been four weeks since the vehicle was brought in.

According to the contract I have forfilled my end of the deal including proper maintenance. As I sit now I have a vehicle that is in hundreds of pieces, a $1300 bill that I am supposedly responsible for, and a $10,000 estimate to fix a $5000 vehicle.

Official reason for denying the claim "There was no actual parts failure and all damage was caused by a foreign object." How is it my fault that foreign matter damaged the engine? Why can't the faulty part be the whole engine? Why buy a warranty if it does absolutely nothing for you? I don't even know who to go after at this point, the dealer or the warranty company? If they never found any "foreign matter" when they opened the engine than how can they blame it on that?
