Jayco Inc
2007 Jayco travel trailer with a rotten roof and Jayco blames the consumer again!

Cars & Transport

I purchased a new 2007 Jayco Flight trailer and every 6 months I inspected the roof and caulking. This fall when I went to close up the trailer for the season I noticed the roof had bubbled up and was soft and bubbles had developed inside the wall of the trailer and outside. I brought my trailer into rv canada where I had bought it and they checked the caulking and the rubber roof and said it was all good. But was told the damage to the trailer was extreme and the roof was rotten with molds.

So a claim was submitted to Jayco and was declined. Stated the warranty was only for 2 years, (even though the roof warranty is for 10 years). I started doing some research on this matter and found out trailers made between 2007 by Jayco used a type of material under the roof called tpo which acts like a wick and absorbs moisture and holds onto it and causes the roof to rot, and wood and sometimes the frame of the trailers. I guess Jayco realized it and have changed the material used but for the consumers that bought trailers in those years they have suffered great losses.

I believe this should be considered a manufacture defect and Jayco should stand behind their product.
