Failure to repair truck, unacceptable delay in truck repairs

Cars & Transport

Primary complaint:

Company work truck brought to dealership for repair service more than 3 weeks ago. Repair work has not yet commenced. This truck is essential for providing company income for our Plumbing business. (That is: we cannot complete all of the jobs available to us without that truck.)

Back story:

The truck was seriously damaged in an accident December 8th. At that time it was brought to the dealership for repair. We thought that the truck had been properly and thoroughly repaired.

The truck failed to operate correctly about three weeks ago. We took it to the dealer and were informed by Larry in the Service Department that the failure was due to the catalytic converter that had sustained damage in December and had not been repaired at that time. He also informed us that the cross member had sustained damage in that December accident and had not been repaired.

Additionally, the ABS warning indicator light turned on about two weeks prior to the catalytic converter failure. The need for this additional, under-warranty repair was brought to the attention of the Service Department when the truck was brought in for repair.

Paul of West Memphis Ford told us today (September 6) that none of these repairs have been accomplished yet.

Larry Rowland of the Service Department told us two weeks ago that repairs on the truck would begin that day. (Quote: "The truck will be on the rack within 2 hours.")
