Blackwell-Baldwin Dodge Ripoff Bought New Truck Didn't Disclose Wrecked in Transit Sold Damaged Truck as New

Cars & Transport

Bought new $44,000 Dodge truck, had problems from day one, electrical, raining in cab, excessive wind noise around doors. Had back to Dealer several times, they could not or would not fix truck. Finally told me never to come back. They have a Ford Dealership in Poplar Bluff MO. Owner of business told me to get it fixed there. Had it there twice. Problems not resolved.

Went to trade truck which was six months old to a different 5 Star Dodge Dealer who informed that the truck had been wrecked in transit and the problems I was experiencing was probably a direct result of that. Said he would trade for a new truck, but it would cost me an extra $5,000 loss due to the paintwork done on the truck. Said he would not sell this truck off his lot, he would put it in an auction somewhere. Thought the damage was significant enough that he wouldn't want to sell it to a local buyer.

I've contacted Dodge Warranty Dept. Numerous times, weekly for months, and there only reply is that is between me and the dealer. When they have a truck damaged in transit, they sell it to the dealer for less and it's the dealer's choice on how he wants to market the truck.

Damage should have been disclosed to me by Blackwell-Baldwin Dodge and the truck's price adjusted accordinly to the extent of the damage. I never noticed any of the improperly fitting body panels until I was going to trade it off and a reputable Dodge Dealer pointed them out to me.

5 Star dodge Dealer gave me a letter stating their opinion on the improper repair done to this new truck and explaining why this made my truck worth $5,000 less tradein.

Blackwell-Baldwin said that this was all no big deal and they could care less. Said they would repair truck as necessary but they would not take another Dodge Dealer's word for it. However, they have not repaired the truck on any other occasion that it has been left at their dealership. Wanted me to leave it for another 2 to 3 weeks for them the evaluate the damage. Also, all warranty work done, I have invoices from Blackwell-Baldwin but they have never turned any warranty work in to Chrysler for payment. One reason, because they have never done anything. They knew what it was when they sold it and figured I would eventually get tired of it, trade it somewhere else, and they would be done with it.
