Ups
Poor Service, Misleading Information

Cars & Transport

Called this UPS store about sending a package with a corporate UPS number. I was told that UPS did not do that, at all, period. I went to the store with the package. Shipping was going to be $33. I was told the UPS store could not ship with a corporate UPS number. I said yes I was told that earlier, and was told in fact that UPS simply would not do that. They confirmed that. I told them I thought that was not true. It took 10 minutes of arguing for the store employees to let me know I had to go to a UPS customer service center elsewhere in the city.By that time people in the store were looking at me like I was causing a problem, when the problem was that I was about to get mischarged becuase I was misinformed both on the phone when I called earlier in the day, and then by the employees in the store when I visited.

To just get adequate customer service (and adequate customer service would me being accurately informed about where to get service for shipping with a corporate number without a personal trip and 10 minute argument with 2 employees in the store) I had to argue for 10 minutes and appear like a public nuisance to other customers to save myself an unnecessary $33 charge for a routine corporate transaction. This is not right and is either poor training of employees or wilfull negligence by management, employees or both.
