Bpt. Police had my brother's stolen car towed to J.A.X.S. They charged $150.00 for storing the car, which had only been there for 2 hours and they kept the car for parts since the Honda Civic had bee

My brother's 1996 Honda Civic was stolen on 3/19 from the street where he lives. It was reported to Bridgeport Police Dept. And insurance company.

The Police's incident report shows the car was reported as being in the middle of a street on 3/22 by a named source. The Police called J.A.X. S to tow the car and did not notify my brother first to alert him of the car's status. The J.A.X.S. Receipt for the $150.00 charged my brother for "storage fee" shows a $25.00 city fee included.

The phone call by the named source on the police's incident report shows a time of 7:26: 01 A.M. My brother went to see the car at approx. 10:00A.M. That same day and J.A.X.S. Was quoting a fee of well over $200.00 for "storing" the car. The company people refused my brother's request to see the car when he first got there. He had to pay the fee in order to have access to his car.

The J.A.X.S. People knew my brother's car had been stripped for parts. Knowing that the car was destined to stay with them for whatever other parts they could sell. Why charge him such a high fee or any fee at all?
