Ripoff! I want reimbursment for repair of defective brakes and defective ball joints

Cars & Transport

Our 1997 Dodge Dakota, which we bought new, has many complaints regarding defective brakes and ball joints. Our rear brakes have never worked properly and we just had our ball joints replaced after only 32,000 miles.

We would like to be reimbursed for the repairs to the ball joints, which included a new alignment. We would also like to be reimbursed for new tires we had to purchase due to premature wear because of the problems with the ball joints.

Anyone that we have contacted at any dealership has said that this isn't a warranty issue and since there is no recall on the ball joint problem, we are out of luck.

CBS news reported in October of 03 there is a class action lawsuit against Chrysler regarding the problem with the ball joints. Do you know who we can contact to be added to the class action lawsuit. We only want to be reimbursed for something that wore out prematurely and don't feel that is too much to ask.

Any help would be appreciated.
