Auto tire lies so they dont have to honor warranty

On 11/20/08 I took my '00 Ford Taurus in to get a state inspection. I was told that my car failed the inspection due to my lower ball joints being bad and that all four of my tires were spliting. I asked if this would be a warranty issue with the tires because they were less than 4 years old and under 20,000 miles. The assistant manager claimed that because the ball joints were bad the warranty would be void. I thought that was funny because the rear tires do not have ball joints. I was then told that the warranty may cover two of the tires due to it being a partial road hazard. When I contacted the manufacturers of the tires to find out their policy they claimed that the ball joints did not neccessarily void the warranty, and since all four of the tires were splitting they would take it on a case by case basis. I then took my car back up to this company and had the manager look at it, he stated that he had spoken to the manufacturers on the phone and that they were going to give me a 25% sympathy discount. I then called the manufacturers back and asked how they reached that decision. They told me that the owner of the company told them that my tires were not regularly rotated and that there was an alignment issue. Autotire does my rotation on scheduled mileage everytime. Also this alignment issue was never mentioned to me personally. The ball joints were the only thing mentioned to me and it was determined at the instpection that those did not cause the tear in my tires. I paid $550 to replace the tires and for the service. I also contacted the BBB and they said that auto tire did right so according to the BBB it is ok for a companey to lie
