Central Florida Frame and Axle, Inc
American Frame and Axle Shoddy workmanship on truck tracto

Cars & Transport

Our 2000 Volvo 660 tractor was taken to american frame and axle in Tampa, Fl for repairs for an accident on 07-9. The shop did a rush job on the repairs which were supposedly finished on 08-6 and numerous problems were found by an inspecting shop in Tampa, Fl and the truck was taken back to american frame and axle on 08-9 so they could finish the repairs on the hood, side fairing, wheel bearings, air line, bumper, lights and to attach the air hose from the charge air cooler to the turbo which american frame and axle had held up using the abs wiring to the steering wheel.
On 08-25 the tractor was brought in to Mcgriff's tire service in Oxford, Al because the truck pulled to the right. It was found to have both u bolts that hold the front axle on the passenger side loose, dangling on the axle itself with two nuts left the others fell off. The only holding the front axle on was two u bolts and the weight of the tractor. The driver side of the front axle u bolt well loose as well. The u bolts on the front axle were never tightened properly to begin with.
I have paid this shop for repairs that two different shops in different states have found defects in workmanship. I am getting the runaround in getting a refund for the tire, three axle alignment and the u bolts that needed to be tightened to make the truck roadworthy. Without the u bolt on the passenger side of the truck attached there was no way to know how far out of alignment the steer axle was. The u bolts had to been tightened to safely get the truck on the alignment rack. This shop was paid by the insurance company and my company on 08-9 the amount on $12376.19 and $1849.44 for new springs and bushings. Even new trucks dont't have their u bolts back off the front axle this unacceptible workmanship and now american frame and axle refuses to reimburse me for repairs of $688.36 In time, this costly workmanship could have caused a major accident endangering not only my life but also the motoring public as this is a SEMI-TRUCK
