Just Brakes
Makes dangerous mistakes and fixes things that aren't broken

I took my car in for new pads and was told that it would take over $1000 to make my car safe. At the time I didn't know anything about the brake system, so I went along with the mechanics suggestions. After several weeks the the brakes started squeaking so I went back and they adjusted them.

Then I went on vacation to California and on the way there, my wife was driving and she ran into someone because she couldn't slow down fast enough. Luckily we were going slow enough that no damage was done.

The next day the brakes started making a loud clunking noise. We called Just Brakes and they said that they didn't have any stores in California, so we could go to any reputable mechanic, but we would need to have any repairs approved before they would pay for them. When we got to a mechanic he found that the calipers were loose and charged $25 to tighten them. He also mentioned that most of the work I had done was not needed. When I called Just Brakes to approve the repair, no one answered even though it was still during thier working hours.

I paid for the repairs out of pocket and took the car back to the mechanic in Waco when I got back to get a refund and to ask him why the brakes still squeaked. At first he said that I would have to go through the corporate office to get a refund, but after arguing with him for a while he in front of other customers he refunded the $25, which was little consolation in view of the accident we had and the $1000 in unnecessary repairs.
