Rick Fernandez (Service Advisor) Fraud, Liars, Ripoff, Threatning

Cars & Transport

Took my car to AAMCO Gilbert/San Tan to have my Cadillac repaired. I worked with the service advisor Rick Fernandez. Left the car there, and Rick called me back later that day and told me that the estimate for parts and labor was going to cost me roughly $3500 since they were Cadillac parts, they were going to be expensive. I agreed to it, and then he called back a week later, when the car was supposed to be done, and said that the part that he originally said was the cause of my car problems was not the problem, and that now I needed 2 Catalytic Convertor which was the main cause. He then proceeded to tell me that he would have to order these parts from California, because they did not sell Cadillac Catalytic Convertors in AZ, and so now it would take a few more days to get them and have them installed. Over $4600 and 2 weeks later, 2 weeks due to his injured mechanic that was working on my car that he said would be out for 2 months, I went to go pick up the car (with the mechanic miraculously there working). Drove the car home and the car was making a noise that it never did before. Took it back to Rick to have him take a look and see if he could fix the noise, which he said he could not hear.
So after not getting anywhere with Rick, I took the car to another auto repair shop to have them do an inspection and come to a very upsetting conclusion. All the parts that AAMCO put into my car were after-market parts. The 2 Catalytic Convertors that Rick said he would have to order from California were after-market and cost was $81 each, but I was charged $900 for them. The radiator, also after-market, was $120 and I was charged $530. The thermostat costs $21, and I was charged $90. And I was charged $95 in labor for a timing belt that needed to be taken off to get to the other parts of the engine and put back on anyways. The Catalytic Convertors that they installed, since they were after-market, did not fit correctly on the exhaust, so they cut my exhaust system and welded the after-market parts on. This was what is causing the noise. So now, in order to fix this properly, a whole new exhaust system, from the engine to the muffler has to be replaced.
I went back to Rick after finding out this information, and he told me that the manager would call me that day. One week later, and no phone call from the manager, I went back to see Rick and asked for the manager's information so that I could contact him and work this out. Rick then proceeded to tell me, LITERALLY, to "F$CK OFF", and then he said he "doesn't care about this job, let's take it outside so I can Kick Your A$".
So now, almost $5000 later, my car still doesn't run properly, they won't look at my car, they won't respond to my complaints, they threatened me, and according to Rick, he is not giving me any contact information.
