Deceptive, unethical, misleading, bait & switch tactics, rude, discriminatory, irresponsible

Cars & Transport

We had been negotiating the purchase price of a specific vehicle over the internet. We had not yet finalized the price when we decided to visit the dealership to test drive the vehicle. That is when we discovered that the vehicle we had been negotiating on over the internet for days did not exist!

We had been very specific in our correspondence to asertain that there were certain options on this vehicle, specifically power windows, power door locks & cruise control, which the Internet Sales person (Patti Scipione) confirmed by e-mail several times (which we have proof of). When we were shown the vehicle on the lot there were none of these options.

We had been negotiating on a vehicle that did not exist & was totally misrepresented to us as having options it did not. This cannot be viewed as anything else except a clear case of "bait & switch". We were "baited" with a vehicle that we were ready to make a purchase on that did not exist & "switched" to a vehicle with none of the options we had specifically inquired about.

We therefore had been led to believe we were negotiating a price for a vehicle that was suppose to have certain options that didn't even exist. There was no offer of a price adjustment on the vehicle that was actually there which we were still interested in. When asked if they would adjust the price to reflect the true vehicle for sale we were blantenly told there was no way they would come down in price. The only explanation we were given by the salesman (Patrick) was that it was "a mistake" telling us in the e-mail the vehicle had options it really did not have.

Interstingly enough within a few days the price of the vechicle we were shown on the lot was reduced by $1,000 after we had been told there was no way they could come down. We e-mailed them again to attempt to re-establish a dialogue so that we could purchase the vehicle, with no response. Oddly enough our son followed up for us with an e-mail offering the same exact price we had offered on the same exact vehicle & within hours his offer had been accepted. So along with all their deception, mis-representation & rudeness they now seemed to be discriminatory also!!!

We reported this to the BBB & the dealership responded that they would be contacting us to resolve the issue. As expected we never got any follow-up correspondence & no resolution.

I strongly recommend you consider any dealings with this dealership for any future purchases as it is the most unprofessional, unethical group I have ever had dealings with.
