Plastic Intake ripoff BULL!

I own a 1998 Pontiac Bonneville, on 09/29/99 I replaced the intake because it was deformed and now I have to replace it again (10/09/01) at a cost of $500.00. If I am not mistaken it's been my experience that an engine intake normally last the life of the engine. Now that they are making the intake out of plastic I believe that the heat from the engine is deforming the intake. The response I get from Pontiac is that this is normal, my response is Bull - .
