Three packages shipped to me in the past month have never arrived

Since November 18 when three pairs of pointe shoes were shipped to me from San Francisco and never arrived, I am now also missing two major Christmas gifts. Assorted dining table placemats and bath products shipped from Pacific Palisades on December 7th and I never got this from my friend. Now my brother informs me that his Christmas gift-to-be (gourmet food) from David and Harry's also never arrived, although it too was ordered in advance. What these three missing packages have in common, is that they all came from CA, but different cities. However, I think the problemrests here with my local Post Office, Peter Stuyvesant on 14th St. Over theyears they have lost two packages and delivered one gift 4 months after it was sent. Three lost packages in about a month has to be some all time record for one recipient. I will be busy filing phone reports on Monday but need to share this now. And wouldappreciate any help.in the future no one ships me anything without confirmation.
