Outlandish ripoff late fees

My Wife and I purchased a used GMC Jimmy, From a Chrysler Dealer, and used Chrysler Financial for the financing. It was the biggest mistake of our lives!

This was a 60 month loan that was due to be paid in May of this year. We both suffered through layoffs, and finding different jobs. Due to this situation, we were late, (never more then 2 weeks), on several payments.

We sent the loan payoff June 1st of this year, after suffering through numerous harassing phone calls, and actually having someone attemp to reposess the truck. Please remember we were NEVER more then a couple weeks late on this loan!

Now we have collectors calling us at least three times a day, stating we owe more then $600.00 in late payment fees.By our calculations, those fees should be no more then $150.00.

We tried for three months to get a balance payoff out of Chrysler Financial, with no luck. Finally one did arrive, which we are contesting.

Yesterday both a collector, AND a Supervisor called, and threatened my wife with another reposession, or a write off on the loan, with a lawsuit to follow.

We have been more then patient (and polite) with these people. They REFUSE to admit there may be an error with the account, and are impossible to deal with.

I may have to get an attorney to finally clear this matter up. If that is the case, some form of lawsuit may follow.

For your mental health, (I have a collector on the line as this is being written, saying we are now 42 days delinquent on a PAID OFF LOAN), do not EVER use Chrysler Financial!
