Do Not Buy Anything from this Company

I purchased a pre-owned vehicle from Thomas Auto Group 2 with a wrap-around warranty. Dec the transmission went. I called Thomas and was told by a representative that they don't honor the warranty they sold me. Took the car elsewhere for repair; had to rent a car; put out for 20 days and nearly $1500. Called owner of Thomas Auto Group, Thomas Mammolito, was told he was unavailable. Wrote him a letter to which he did respond. He said it was a mistake; they should have honored the warranty and he'd do everything he could to "make this right" including refunding some of my money or buying back the car. Uh huh. Subsequent phone calls and letters have been ignored. Next stop: Dept. Of Consumer Affairs and the NYS Attorney Generals Office.

To add insult to injury, and this was my error, their "creative finance" dept. Wrote my loan up and never deducted $5500 for my trade-in and they stuck me with a sub-prime lender. After we closed the deal, a "real bank" called and asked why I hadn't opted to use their services. It seems the finance guy for Thomas was/is getting kick-backs for dumping loans with unscrupulous lenders. I got taken coming and going from this place. The later part was my error and I'll be paying for this for a very long time. I'm telling everyone I know, stay the heck away from this place. I must admit, when I saw they are on Chrysler's hit list of dealers who can no longer sell new GM vehicles I was pleased: there will be fewer Thomas Auto Group victims.
