Remotesupermarket - Ebay Motors Wouldn't make refund after they confirmed they would. Point Pleasant, NJ

Remote Supermarket sells computer chipped keys and keyless entry remotes. I purchased a key and a pre owned remote. First problem was that my purchase was supposed to be received within seven working days from the order. It took over three weeks to receive. During this time they apologized twice.

The remote works great and had no complaint.

The Key; R.S. Will tell you that the key needs to be taken to a dealer or locksmith to be cut and it will work fine. What they fail to tell you is that it needs to be programmed as well. Locksmiths do not offer programming services.

I took the key to the local Acura dealer. They cut it and then explained that it would be an additional $45.00 to get it programmed so that it will start the car. I decided to forgo the programming and just use the key for a spare to open the door. The key failed to open the door. The dealer explained that they often experience trouble with aftermarket keys. I bucked up and purchased the dealer key.

I contacted Remote Supermarket and explained what happened and they said to return the cut key and they would refund me the price of the key and the shipping charges. When I contacted them, the key was confirmed returned but they would not make the refund. I asked to speak with the owner, long story short, he said that he had to speak with his wife over dinner to discuss if they should fire the person that said they would make the refund and if they wanted to make things right. Before the end of a long drawn out conversation, I could sense that I was heading down a dead end path. I told them I would take matters into a different direction.

Lesson learned, when making a purchase on EBay, do not call the company direct. Make your purchase through EBay otherwise you will not have any recourse.

Good luck on this. I did make phone contact with EBay and asked if they would consider not allowing their sellers to market their contact phone numbers. They said they'll research the seller's ad.
