Master Muffler In Layton Utah - Doug Waaay Over Charged Me Over charged and changed the price several times

Master Muffler in Layton charged me 49.95 to change a fuel filter. I have replaced those before... All you do is unplug two hoses and put the new part in. I got screwed on that one. I could have bought the part at autozone for 20.00. I went there and paid 149.00 for a tune up, and they charged me 50.00 extra on top of the tune up for a fuel filter. (it should have been included with tune up) I have never been ripped off like this before.

They also charged me 105.00 for an oil pressure switch... I googled the part and it also only cost 20.00 at autozone. (and it's a simple part you just screw in too) They were going to charge me 199.00 for it. (Doug said it was leaking oil, but there are no oil stains on my drive way) Doug called me on the phone the next day and said, oops, we made a mistake in your favor... The part is only 37.00.

Then, he said well, that saved you a bunch of money, so do you want to get your fuel injection cleaned... They said 249.00... I did not know about the ridiculous above charges yet, so I said I might as well.

I get the car back and the Idle is idling really high. I'm thinking all they did is turn up the idle so my car sounds like it's running better. I hope this helps other people from getting ripped off by them. I paid a total of 446.18 I don't think they did half of what my reciept says the did... Fuc$ing rip off bastar%$.

Always ask around to several friends to find a trust worthy mechanic. I was in a hurry to get it done and picked a place out of the yellow pages. Now I know why their parking lot was not that full... No repeat business...
