Towed without Written Authorization

Here is the paper I received with the reciept,

"i, the undersigned, understand and will comply with sections 22658,22853 of the california vehicle code.
In consideration of to & mo towing services removing the herin described vehicle, the undersigned agrees to hold and save to & mo towing and its employees forever harmless from any and all claims, expense or liability which may arise by virtue of removing the herin described vehicle for us.

The office at the apartment complex was closed today, their all at a company meeting, so there was no owner, or property manager. Security guards usually dont come around till dark, and I didn't see any maintenance people. It cost $205... Was my car illegally towed? I wasn't even parked on the fire lane, I was parked behind it, blocking two cars - I was in and out of my apartment in about 5 mins... When I walked outside, the car was gone, nobody was there, and the cars I was blocking were still there, and the tow truck was just passing the gate. I ran towards the truck yelling and waving my hands, threw my guitar (in a bag) into the dirt and threw my keys at the driver as he took off, the keys even hit the truck. On the phone, they tow company said they can "drop" the car if I'm present at the time its being towed and that its not his drivers fault that he couldn't hear or see me. When I told him it took less then 5 minutes before being towed and asked if his drivers are waiting in the parking lots he said,

"He was probably just making a run"...

Any suggestions? Cause I think I just got ripped off!
