Illegal towing from apt. Complex

My daughter moved in to an apartment complex in Austin, TX on Sat., June 2. She just graduated from college and has a new job in Austin.

On the FIRST night at the complex her car was towed. The apartment manager or someone in that office assigned her a parking spot that was already taken. The owner of the parking spot calling J&J Towing and that person had my daughter's car towed away.

When she called the apartment office this morning, they immediately told her to call J&J Towing. BUT, they were defensive about her car being towed. My daughter explained that the identification for that parking spot was given to her on her lease papers. They were still defensive and the person in the office said all she could do is try to reach the aparment manager. After about 3 hours, she said she still couldn't reach her. I told the woman she had until 6:00 pm (when she got off of work) to get this fixed today and get my daughter's car back—their mistake!

After a call to the apartment office by my daughter's father and by myself (her mother), about 1 hour later, the woman in the apartment office said she did get ahold of the apartment manager and that SHE DID NOT authorize my daughter's car to be towed. She called J&J Towing and told them to release my daughter's car to her at no charge to my daughter.

We were not going to pay the 195.00 to J&J Towing to get my daughter's car back that is for sure.

So, the issue is this: J&J Towing (who I know is a notorious car thief in Austin, TX) towed my daughter's car off the apartment complex property WITHOUT the apartment manager's authorization. The woman in the apartment manager's office told my daughter that. Evidently the real owner of the parking spot called the towing company.

I have a problem with the apartment manager over that, but also want to know what recourse I have against J&J Towing for towing my daughter's car without authorization from the apartment manager.

HELP! I would like to know more about Redacted Towing Compliance. How can I contact them?
