Oxendale Kia
Flagstaff Kia Dealership Dishonest and Incompetent from top to bottom

Cars & Transport

I am writing this report because I have had the same experience twice with this dealership, proving to me beyond a doubt that my first impression of them was right.

The first experience was taking my brand new Kia Sorrento (1000) miles to them. It was making a horrible creaking noise whenever you would start and stop and go around corners. First they made me wait 3 weeks for an appointment to bring it in. Then when they finally did look at it, they mis diagnosed the problem as the seats needing to break in. A week later I figured out the noise was coming from the factory installed running boards and removed them myself, problem solved. Other than the $500 running boards sitting in my garage.

Fast forward 1 year I had to take the car back because it was leaking oil. Only 3 days for the appointment this time. The service manager Chris (same guy as before) has the car for about an hour, and calls me and says the guys at Jiffy Lube created all the problems by improperly installing my oil filter and overfilling my transmission with the wrong fluid.

Chris then says since you had a bad experience here last time I will do you a favor and take care of everything for $150. To this I said, no I will take it back to Jiffy Lube and make them fix it for free. At this he came unglued at me and my wife on to seperate phone calls. I took it back to Jiffy Lube anyway, the guy there changed my oil filter again at no charge and took pictures of everything he was doing. He also showed me record that they had not added any transmission fluid, and also showed me that the fluid was actually a little low. But stated that they don't even have the fluid requred for that new model of car. And would have declined any service to that transmission, all of this on computer record.

I then took the car back to Oxendale Kia, Where they totally changed their story on the transmission. They then tried to tell me that it was normal, for the car to have a quart of " residual oil" underneath it after an oil change, that gets stuck in the cooling fins on the transmission. They said it's a bad design but not a defect so not under warranty. (Kind of like the running boards. I guess)

I asked for their recomendation to fix the problem, as they were towling off oil from underneath the vehicle. They said nothing, this is normal. So I said then why were you going to charge me $150 dollars to fix nothing. They said because we mis-diagnosed it the first time.

Throughout the whole process everyone I talked to said that if I would bring it in to the dealership for service I would never have these problems. As they were telling me this for the last time, one of the mechanics backed one of the cars in the bay into someone else's truck that was in there. I pointed it out and told the manager, there was now way I would ever bring any vehicle of mine into this place. He tried to tell me that had nothing to do with my problem. But I beg to differ, it's all about attitude and professionalism. 2 things that don't exist at Oxendale Kia.
