My VW is worse off after being serviced

My VW is 10 years old, but still in pretty great shape, and so I assume getting an oil change and other maintenance at a VW dealer is better for my car. Unfortunately Emich is the most central VW dealer in the city of Denver—and the worst!

It was time for my car to get an oil change, and I had asked Emich to look at my passenger window which had, two weeks prior, gone "off track". The automatic window would move up and down just fine, however the window glass was skewed a bit, and would have to be "guided manually" to completely close shut. I drove my car around town that way for two weeks—just knowing not to open the passenger window (which is rarely used anyway).

Emich called to say the car window needed a new "regulator" @ $429! I declined, knowing I rarely opened that window (however if I needed to, it would open & close, skewed, but could be manually guided to close shut and stay shut.)

I left Emich, had my car washed, and as I was driving home, my passenger window slams down all the way. I stopped the car and saw that Emich had applied black electrical tape to "hold up" my window. Nice job... The service guy did not inform me that had been the case. Great customer service...

When I tried to use the automatic window, it was clear that it was completely off track and now the window would not move up or down at all!
So now I am completely much worse off. I wish I had never asked the service department to look at the window. Shouldn't your car be returned to you in better (or at least the same) condition as when it was dropped off?
