Mitsubishi Of Anaheim
Internet Sales Manager TJ, Mike Mirasoli Bait and switch tactic, 100 mile drive for nothing, the truck was sold, still lured down

Cars & Transport

I responded to an ad on autotrader about a Dodge Ram 2500 that was for sale at Anaheim Mitsubishi:
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp. Jsp? Ct=u&car_id=250048212&dealer_id=97553&search_type=used&distance=100&address=93003&style_flag=2&body_style=TRUCKS&make=DODGE&model=&make2=&start_year=1981&end_year=2009&min_price=&max_price=12000&transmission=Automatic&engine=&drive=4 wheel drive&doors=&fuel=Diesel&max_mileage=&color=&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc=&keywords_display=&certified=&advanced=y&default_sort=&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc=

I called and spoke with TJ, I was so sure that I wanted the truck that I offered a deposit twice and both times he declined, as I was going to have to take the day off of work and also find a ride to get me down there. I was told that he would hold the truck for me no problem and that he had "my keys and book" right here waiting for me, come on down and drive it home. I jumped through all the hoops to get the cash, drove two hours through the thick of LA traffic only to see somebody hopping into "my" truck, and driving off. I spoke to 4 different salesmen and none of them knew what was going on with that truck (which is STILL advertised on Autotrader, ad claims "verified available as of 8/19" which is obviously not the case as I saw it drive off on 8/17). I finally was able to track TJ down, as he was hiding in his office avoiding me and he barely had even apologized before he offers to sell me a Toyota truck instead to make up for it! I was looking for a 3/4 ton dodge diesel for towing a race truck and he thinks he can lure me down there and sell me a toyota. I also heard another salesman mention that the guy that bought it had been there the last few days so they basically were using me as a lever to drive the price of the truck up.

I called the owner of the franchise and he offered to try and find me a truck of the same caliber, to make up for it, but then tries to explain away the shady tactics used by saying that they had me and the guy who actually bought the truck mixed up, even though TJ called me 3 times while I was on my way down there, the last time not 15 minutes before I arrived so obviously the guy that actually bought the truck was there already, there is no way they would mix up potential customers, the place looked dead anyways so not like there were a lot of customers to mix up. The owner also said that it is very common to take deposits to hold a truck and was not sure why they would not take mine but told me he would find out and call me back, which of course he never did!

They did not offer me any sort of gas money compensation and barely even uttered an apology before I stormed out, completely shattered that I had been used and that I wasted my day when I should have been at work, and my buddies day who also took the day off of work to give me a ride.
