Largest problem. They try to push service on you that you don't need for inspection. They try to intimidate you. Last year I refused a $100 transmission fluid change and shortly started to have transmission trouble. Told me that I needed this or it would get worse. I have never had to do this before with ANY car. I had a toyota for 12 years and never had a transmission problem. I read on consumeraffairs that there were at least 9 complaints that they needed a new transmission and sloan would not respond properly. They tell me that I need new wiper blades for the last 2 years inspection because it was torn. Wasnt torn before I got there. Told me 2 years ago that I needed brakes and rotor resurfacing. I let them as I didnt suspect anything. I heard no noise from braked before that. They told me that I need this again this year. $200. Said it was the proper way to do brakes. I said no, just replace pads. Told that it was not the proper way to do it. I told them that I knew if they kept doing that, I would need new roters soon. Said NO.
I When I got my new car home in and pulled the seat back to adjust the driver carpet, a rear "rail guard" popped off and I called to have it replaced. They said they would order it and would call. No call. Next year at inspection I asked again and they said they would order it and call me. No call. 2006 inspection, (when they did the rotors) I brought the part that popped off and made a big deal about it. They took the part # and said they would order it and call. No call. This year I was told that it was standard policy for me to make an appt to get the part and they would never have told me that they would order it and call. The part # was in the data base for me from last year so they could not deny that I spoke to them about it. I made the appt, but I am going to ask today when I get my car why I need one and will I be charged for it. Just to pick up a part.
