GM VANS Side doors not opening. 96-00 broken pins, hinges. GM KNOWS, TECH REPORTS out there about this problem. Have Solution!

Cars & Transport

If you own a GM Express Van, G10, Savana, any of the full size vans from 96 to 2000 with the side doors that have hinges welded on, And they are broken, jammed, or the pins are rusted shut.

Here is what you do!!! GM know of this problem, there is Tech reports out there about this exact problem, and how to fix. But here is the catch. The Hinges, If you have to replace all the hinges and pins and bushings, which are GM only parts, will cost you approx. $1200 for just parts. Yes, 1200 to fix 2 doors. And that is before labor.!!!

First - Take the van to a GM dealer repair shop. GET ESTIMATE how much it will cost.

Second - File a complaint with your states attorney general.!!! Let them know how much it will cost to fix this. If you do nothing, GM gets away with robbing people. PLEASE file complaints.

Third& When GM calls, and believe me they will. Let them know you got estimate from GM Dealer, and you want them fixed.

I had mine fixed by a body man friend, and Now GM won't reimburse me for the parts and labor that cost me 800.00, Because I didn't get this estimate first.

STAND UP, and get your vehicles fixed! GM know this is a problem, but to recall them would be too costly. If enough people complain about this problem, which is a safety hazard, The attorney general's will have to do something. And so will GM.
Get the doors fixed, your family's safety depends on it..

Good Luck
