Volkswagen
Misrepresentation of lease turn-in fees Worldwide nationwide

Cars & Transport

I am at the end of my 3-year lease with my 2005 VW Golf. This car has been very dependable during the entire lease, and I have had all necessary services through the VW garage completed to maintain this vehicle.

This past week, I have had SGS complete the inspection on this vehicle. Unfortunately, the have reported that we now owe VW a total of $781.00 for various scratches and dings on the vehicles from 3 years of use.

This has been my first experience with leasing a vehicle. This car had some nicks in the door when it was brand new on your lot.in caution, I asked the VW salesman about any hidden fees for minor wear upon return of the vehicle. He assured us that we would not be charged for minor scratches and dings upon return of this vehicle because, it is understood that this is normal wear on a vehicle during the lease period.

The $781.00 charge by VW is a gross misrepresentation of the information given to me upon lease of this vehicle. I have had two other dealers look at the assessment and condition of the car: They laughed, assured me that this is simply a ploy by VW to bring in more dollars.

I caution potential VW leasers to be aware of dishonesty and hidden fees upon return of their leased vehicles!
