16 year old girl with nationwide insurance hits me and now they won't pay my medical bills or me

I was rear-ended Aug. 9 by a 16-year-old girl who just got her license. She was doing 65 in a 35 and messing with her cell phone while driving her mother's new car. I was sitting still waiting for the car in front of me to turn left. She has Nationwide insurance and they are screwing me.

I have neck, back, shoulder, and hip injuries. I was told by their representative, Nancy Widder, that they would pay all of my medical bills. My car was 6 weeks old at the time and they wouldn't repair it to new so I had to use my own money to cover the difference for the repairs.

I had to quit my full time teaching job after the accident because I couldn't pick up the children or perform my duties. I lost my health insurance for my husband and I and my paycheck! I've had to have help to do normal tasks around the house. I couldn't lift or bend or sleep!

My doctor released me in Dec. 2007 with residual injuries that I would continue to deal with. I can't sit or stand for more than a half hour. I can't lift more than 15 lbs. Every hour. I'm done teaching and no one would hire me with all of my restrictions.

Nationwide told me they would pay 1000 of my 7000 dollars of medical bills and give me $1500 for pain and suffering. I lost $2000 in pay while I tried to keep teaching and haven't worked since. I can't afford the medication I'm on for high blood pressure or my allergy meds. We sunk into deeper debt and my husband took a pay cut.

We've been fighting with them for 3 months and they refuse to give any more. We talked to a lawyer who told us we should have had a lawyer from the beginning and now it's too late because Nationwide got copies of all my medical files and are saying that it all could have been pre-existing.

They lied to me from day one and now I'm screwed. I have medical bills I can't pay from an accident that wasn't my fault. Get a lawyer if this happens to you! Don't trust the insurance companies. Nationwide lied. Nancy Widder lied. Now my life is permanently altered and the 16-year-old's life goes on because mommy and daddy pay her bills.
