Junk Car Buyer Double Teams to Pay Less

So we are selling our old car and only asked 200 for it expecting to get 100. We make a verbal deal with a guy who put an ad in the paper for 100 and he says he will come get it at 5 and hand us cash for it.

I get the title ready and at 5:15 we get a call from a different guy (same number and a cell phone number at that) saying "we can't give 100 only 50" Then when I said we have a verbal agreement for 100 with your partner he says, "That's not what he told me" and start talking in circles.

I'm like WTH how is that not what he told you if you somehow knew to say we can't pay you 100 after all? (It was obvious this is what they do to not have to pay as much for cars) and we made the deal in the morning so we could have had someone else here already if we knew they were going to do that. The car is worth more, we just want it gone but not to someone trying to scam us.

The very next place we called jumped at 100 dollars and will be here in half an hour!

I just wanted to hopefully save someone else the hassle of these guys playing there little double team scam game to try and pay less money for cars.
