Tire shop insist on mounting "best" tires on the rear. Where would you rather have a potential blow out? On the steering front, or on the rear? You can't reason with idiots or kids. I've taught auto shop for 21 years and tried to educate them, to no result. I'm done buying tires from Costco, 4 day tire Co can match them in price and will put the tires where you want them. Bye bye Costco.
