The Car Collection deals with "high end" used cars, such as BMW's, Mercedes, ect... I purchased a 2003 BMW 330i from Car Collection of Tampa on the premise that it had not been in any accidents and had a clean history. It turns out that the car had been in a wreck that resulted in the entire car being repainted. Aside from the economic loss that I suffered, it is upsetting that you can't trust even the more reputable used car dealerships. I fell for the "trust us, we're family owned and operated" speel.
They also sold the car to me as having an alarm system and I actually wasted a couple hours at the BMW dealership because I couldn't get it to arm. It turns out that it did not have an alarm. The BMW dealership is an hour away from my home, so between the drive and the wait for diagnosis, I wasted half day. This was one of several wasted days I spent at the dealership because of the car.
When I purchased the car, they also said that they have a certified BMW shop that they use for repairs and should I ever need something fixed, they could get the work done at a discounted rate. Within months of owning this car (at 37,000 miles) the ABS system started acting up, the evaporator core and the A/C blower unit went bad. I tried to contact them on several occasions for help because the dealership wanted thousands to fix these items. They never responded.
Had I purchased a $3000 car from a run of the mill used car lot, I would expect these issues from the car and the dealership but, I purchased an expensive low mileage (32,000) BMW from a reputable dealer and got taken. They had a great reputation and good standing with the Better Business Bureau, so I guess that I expected more out of them.
