Ge Money Warranty Services
Beware! This Company will take your money for a vehicle warranty, then refuse service

Cars & Transport

I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned pickup from a GM Dealership in May. My truck was originally sold by this dealership NEW. When the vehicle was newly purchased, the dealership had the truck lifted by 4" and had other exterior accessories placed on the outside of the vehicle. Just walk onto any GM Dealership and you will always see a NEW Chevy or GMC truck that has been lifted and accessorized, all by the GM dealership.

My truck was still under the 3/36 factory warranty when I purchased it however, I also purchased an Extended Warranty (Service Contract) from the dealership for $1,495.00. The extended warranty was throuth GE MONEY WARRANTY SERVICES. I purchased the most comprehensive warranty that was offered. The dealership assured me that the warranty covered my vehicle in nearly the same manner that the factory 3/36 would.

This week, I took my vehicle in for service as it has just over 40,000 miles on it, meaning that I would be having work done under the Service Contract. The dealership advised me that there was a tranamission line that feeds the transmission cooler that was beginning to leak. They said that they contacted GE MONEY and they refused to cover the line (First problem). The original problem I had reported was that the Tow/Haul feature would not engage.

Well, the dealership contacted GE again and they said that they would be sending an inspector to look at the vehicle the next day. Well... GE now says that my truck has been modified with the Lift and Larger Tires and that they would be REFUSING SERVICE and CANCELLING MY CONTRACT. Keep in mind, I have not personally made ANY modifications to the vehicle, which the Dealership assurred me that they were GM approved modifications. They were all made by the Dealership when they sold it as new.

Additionally, it seems as though GE just wants to hold your money forever in hopes of finding a way to get out of the contract when it comes down to it. I just hope that GE Money plans on paying me interest for the $1,495.00 they have been holding for the past 11 months. If a vehicle is modified by the GM Dealership as new, how can a Service Contract Company back out? Dealerships need to re-consider their options when attempting to sell a GE Service Contract to their Customers.

Lastly, I am withholding the name of the Dealership in hopes that they will take care of this issue and cover my vehicle under the same (or better) terms as my Service Contract for the term I had purchased... OR, get me into another contract with the same or better coverages. The bottom line is that this should NOT be a hassle that the customer has to deal with.

Stay Tuned!
