Scam-artists, charged inflated rates, didn't fix my car and charged $180 tear-down fee

I took in my car for repairs after an accident that wasn't my fault, on the suggestion of my insurance company. I got their estimate, they took pictures, it was all settled, they even said they'd have it done in 10 days! I'm in a rental now, but they called a week 1 day after I dropped it off, said they found prior damage to the front bumper and couldn't continue repairs unless that was fixed first.

I'm the original owner of that car, there was never prior damage. They took pictures, which they now refuse to send me. It's supposed to be on the inside, not visible from outside the car. He says they have to straighten something inside the bumper because they can't fix the passenger side damage until they fix that.

To repair a caved in passenger side, plus paint, a new light, pull out the frame, refinish the hood, the mirror, the door, change the bumper, etc etc, is $1900, but this "prior" damage they quoted is $1100!!! When you can't even see it, when it's supposedly bent on the inside?

So I say, forget it, I'm not paying $1100 for something that you claim was there, I know I haven't damaged my car, even if I had, how can this unseen damage be $1100, it's not broken, my bumper worked/looked just fine before I took it to you. This is "damage" I never would have repaired or known about, which I still don't believe was really there before the accident. I can file a new claim now, but that will put me out $1000, for the 2 deductible payments, and raise my insurance rate.

So I try to get my car back, and now this Shop is Charging me $180 for a TEAR DOWN FEE! They've done nothing to fix my car, and had it torn apart for a week and a half, now that my rental is almost up, they tell me, you have to pay us more, out of your pocket? What choice do I have? I 'm getting a lawyer, but I suggest you avoid this place, they're SCAM ARTISTS!
