On 07/03/02 I purchased a 99 Mercury Cougar. I took a road trip to San Antonio on 07/29/02 the car broke down within the 30 warranty period. They told me that it was a speedometer sensor so that's why it wouldn't shift out of second gear.

I didn't get my car back until 08/09/02, then it was still shifting hard and the radio still didn't work right. I took it back to them on 08/14/02.

I received a Buick Regal as my loaner that I had problems with too, the electronic door locks wouldn't unlock and the key that I had was just an ignition key.

It caused me to miss work and I reported that I had two rare cds locked in the car; they told me that they would get them out for me. When they could only find one in the cd player I asked what about the case and the other cd. I was then told that they are not liable for anything left in the car. I would have been happy to get it out if I could have got in the p.O. S car.

I then got my cougar back on 08/21/02 I was told that the radio was fixed and the transmission was fixed. The radio still comes on and off and the transmission is still jerking into gear.

I called them again regarding my cds and have received no answer back. They are just telling me that they couldn't find anything in there. So give me the money to buy them again.

My car is in the shop right now for the radio and the transmission I took it in on 08/28/02. I received a call yesterday stating that they couldn't find anything wrong with it. What am I supposed to do? I want a car of equal value because this is just ridiculous they have had my car longer than I have.

I do not recommend ANYONE buying a car from CarMax even the four loaner cars that I have had from the lot have been pieces of shit. Please do not buy CarMax!!!
