Phil Long Hyundai
Misleading, Unethical, Poor Customer Service, Lying and Unlawful

Cars & Transport

Usacomplaints.com FOR:
Phil Long Hyundai formally known as Phil Long Suzuki (Val U Car).

In 2003 I bought a 1987 Nissan Maxima off the lots of Phil Long Hyundai. After the purchase of this car, immediately the car would not start. The battery was dead. The salesman told me it would be replaced.

LIE #1-The car battery was not replaced but the old and "bad" battery was recharged. Which left me stranded.

After the battery was replaced I drove the car home and noticed the car had a nail in the tire. The thread was getting low so I decided to replace the tires on the car.

Driving up to my girlfriends house the car started to leak anti-freeze. The radiator switched was replaced which was an inexpensive cost of $20.

Driving down academy the car stalled. Its timing belt and water pump were broken and needed to be replaced.

After the car was fixed I was driving to Walgreens and I started to notice a fire under the hood. The fire department was called and the total car was lost. When I asked the cause of the fire he told me it looked like there was a gas leak on the manifold. (Lucky the damn door worked or I could of died)

LIE #2-The salesman said the car passed a 100 point inspection. What kind of dingbat misses a nail in the tire and a poor condition water pump and timing belt. Not to mention a gas leak on the manifold. It is a serious problem when people can lie to cover up something that could of threatened my own life.

After that I called the company which refused to call me back or even talk to me. It took 3 letters before they finally called me back. They told me to fax in a buyers statement which I did. The total cost of the car was $1,400.

Finally the Assistant manager called me back.
Here is what she claimed:
1. She said it was marked Tow-Away Zone. Obviously this was something the Salesman wrote in after I bought the car. Cars that are marked this were suppose to be used for parts only. 1st-Misleading/Fradulent.
2. She said no inspection was done when I clearly was told by the salesman all cars pass a 100 point inspection. 2nd-Misleading.
3. The car could of picked up a nail from everywhere.
4. Normal wear and tear is expected (All these problems happened with in one month. Wear and tear on tires sure but over 1 month for all these breakdowns to happen is a little more than just coincidence.)
5. The salesman no longer worked there so she could not confront him on what happened on the sale. (She treated me as if I was lying which showed poor customer service skills)
6. She refused to let me talk to the General Manager.

Looking on usacomplaints.com I was not surprised to see other people had problems with the company or in similar networks of this company.

The total Investment and price I lost on the car was about $2400.

Be warned! Do not buy a car from this company. The employees lie and change information on buyers statement. The general manager also does not seem to care.

I hope you go out of business for being such an unethical company which rips off honest people.
