Ripoff

I normally do all of the maintenance work on my own vehicles. I had other things to do so I took my wifes car to "ASS" for an oil change. The oil filter is a bit of a bear to get to, so before I left, I put a mark on it so I would know if they changed it or not. When I got the car back, damned if it didn't still have the same Fram filter I put on it 3000 miles ago. I looked at the receipt and they charged me $7.95 for it. I took the car back and told them what they did, and that I wanted the charge put back on my card. The manager assured me that I was mistaken, and took the car to the lift to inspect it himself. He agreed with me, and told me it was an honest mistake. I don't even know if they put fresh oil in the car. An oil change is a two part job, oil-filter, if a technician can't get that straight, I sure don't want them doing any major repairs. They credited the charge back to my card, and apologized. I assured them that it would not happen again. How often does this happen to people who do not mark their parts or know to check what they paid for? Don't trust that just because they give you a receipt that says they did the work, and charge you for it, that it's actually been done. I'll be doing my own oil changes from now on. I've given a lot of money to this company for brake jobs, etc... I guess they don't need my money.
