Questionable service denied me in public but not online

They have it online where you can make a reservation for a car ahead of time, and just asks you to provide WHICH credit card you are using. I type in Discover, next thing I see is a page saying "Your reservation has been made!" I had the confirmation code.

I brought it to the Baton Rouge Airport to get my car, only to be denied in public stating that my credit card limit is too small, and do I have a debit card. I was so heated that I said nothing and walked away frowned up. I should have told them that they falsely told me I was approved online. I even showed her the confirmation code. They need to revise their web page to where they approve your credit online and spare you the embarrassment in public.
