Offered deferment to me and come to find out they have turned my car over to collections for repossesion. Ripoff

After buying my car last april while financing through drive financial I became ill with seizures. I missed work a lot due to being hospitalized and was eventually laid off. I struggled to pay my car note and fell behind. I got a little better and began working a part time job to pay my car payments. Drive financial representatives would call harrassing me and told me to send payments of $400.00 and I did to try and catch up. One manager in particular told me that if I sent the money in he would give me a two month deferment so I did that.

Two days later another manager called and threatened to reposess my car if I did not start making payments. I then told her that the manager told me that I could have a two month deferment she said that I was lying and she told me that he (this manager who has been with the company for years) didn't have authority to tell me that because they only offer deferments if you are caught up and it is against company policy Of course I disputed her by saying that I did not know that a company could offer a deferment because I am a first time buyer. I said to her "How could I have known about a deferment without this top notch manager telling me about it first". She got very nasty and told me that if I did not send in another $400.00 dollars by friday that she would have my car repossed and send the police and the sheriff to my house for auto theft.

So I paid another $400.00 dollars. Two days after that another manager called me and was very polite to me and basically told me that if I sent in $180.00 dollars that he would give me a two month deferment. I was in complete shock because all of these managers who have supposedly been with this company for years are saying something different. So he took my payment and told me that I would not have to make a payment until the end of June. I was grateful and relieved because things (financially) are starting to pick back up after almost eight months of dealing with seizures.

So today, I get a phone call from the corporate office telling me to give them a call because these same managers have turned my car over to the loss prevention department to be repossed immediately. I am outraged. These people verbally told me that I could have a deferment not once but twice. They got more money out of me when I really couldn't afford it but I bust my butt to get it and this is what they did. Something has got to be done about this company.
