Ripoff buyer beware ripoff swindler doing it leagally ripped off and scammed

March 13 I rented a 10' U-haul truck to go from Mondovi, Wi. To Holbrook, Az. I was quoted a price of $1654.24. This sounded fairly reasonable. Since the price included the SafeMove insurance ($112.00 and taxes of $86.24).

Since I did not know their mileage charge at the time, I accepted the quote and went to PU the vehicle. When I got there I found out they were charging me 7 days and 1991 miles. The extra days/mileage was for "safety". I looked at the contract, there was no mention of any refunds, but if I kept the truck over the alotted days I would have to pay $40.00@day, also, according to them if I exceeded the miles it would cost me $0.40 @ mile.
When I got home and turned in the truck the mileage was 1699 the days were 3. Now, if you multiply 1699 x $0.40 (the only figure I had to go by) you get $679.60 for mileage. 3 days at $20.00 a day (the rate for the truck) = $60.00. So, we have:
mileage; 679.60
day rental (3) 60.00
Insurance 112.00
Taxes 86.24
Total $937.84 vs. $1654.24
When confronted with this difference U-Haul basically said: "That is the way it is. There are no refunds for "saving days/mileage"; but IF U EXCEED THE STATED DAYS/MILES, WE WILL CHARGE U!!!". What is wrong with this picture??? All of this has been reported to the Better Business Bureau of Arizona. I have nothing against people making money, that's why they R in business. But, a $716.40 profit!!! That's 76%!!! Damn, Uncle Sam doesn't charge that much for Income Tax!!! I have copies of the contract, I will be willing to fax them to anyone who might be able to help me. There is nothing on the contract stating that there are no refunds.
