Ripoff ripoff business from hell

I called two weeks in advance to reserve a truck at a location 3 miles from my home. The night before my move I get a call telling me they haven't found a truck for me yet, but will call me back by 9:00 the next morning to tell me where to pick one up. 9:00 comes and goes, and still no call. So I call them after 9:30.

They still haven't found a truck. I start calling other companies. I get a call back telling me I have to drive to Midland, about 30 miles to get a truck. I go get the truck. I ask the agent if I will be reimbursed for the extra miles, since this will obviously take away from my free miles. He said he was pretty sure I would (he was a new employee, so I won't blame him). I set off in the truck and hit a bump.

Both of my rear view mirrors fall down, and I can't see a thing behind me. I stick my hand out the window and re-adjust the driver's side mirror. I can't do a thing about the passenger side, so I can't change lanes all the way home. Unfortunately, everytime I hit a bump, the mirror falls down. I do this all the way home, doing 40-60 mph, with my arm sticking out the window. What's worse, my move was a 100 mile move.

So, I had to hit the freeway with these defective mirrors. My daughter had to ride with me so she could readjust the passenger side. We did this all the way from Saginaw to Detroit, 100 miles. To add insult to injury, when we returned the truck, U-Haul had the nerve to charge us for excess mileage. I will never rent another U-Haul as long as I live.
