Citi-Bank BPOil Ruining my otherwise good credit standing ripoff

Although I am aware that one should check on their credit reports periodically. I didn't until yesterday when trying to negotiate a personal loan.

Much to my surprise, there was a flag on a credit card account that I do not even possess! I've never received a bill from these people and yet it says that I have an outstanding balance of $350. However, it indicates that I am currently past due $100!

The only other notation is: "canceled by credit grantor" what ever that means.

I called Citi-Bank and was given the response "we will check into this." Nothing heard back from them.

I have tried calling the number above several times and receive only hang-ups. Finally I got through and was given another phone number to Citi-Amaco customer service department (1.800.850.6266)

I talked to someone finally who sounded legitimate. He agreed that my name was not in their system.

He suggested that I write to Citi Corp Credit Service Credit Dept. (PO Box 6003 Hagerstown MD 21747-6003 FAX: 301.714.5958) and tell them our story and ask that this be removed from our credit report.

Does anyone know of any investigation into this company?
