Irresponsible, downright nasty ripoff

Ford Credit offered a 2 month payment extension to me when I was experiencing temporary financial difficulty. The extension was never honored by Ford Credit; I received a repossession notice due to the 2 months of non-payment. I could get nowhere with Ford Credit; I've never been treated so badly in my life. I was told the extension was never offered. I was told it was offered but that I refused it. I was told that it was offered, granted and used.

All of the above are lies. My vehicle was repossessed and I was sued for the remaining balance. I went through several settlement conversations with Ford Credit attorneys. They finally offered a settlement I could afford and I called them to accept. I had just purchased a home and had to make sure that I could afford both settlement and mortgage payments; I could live with the settlment offer even though I didn't feel I owed Ford Credit another penny.

I left voice message after message for almost two weeks and noone called me back about the settlement. On the day I was scheduled for court, I finally got a real voice on the phone. I was told it was too late to accept the settlement and that I would have to appear in court. I reminded this gentleman that I had left numerous messages accepting the settlement offer. He totally ignored me and my frantic request for the settlement offer.

After appearing in court, I called Ford Credit attorneys repeatedly to talk about the settlement offer. Again, no phone calls were returned. My employer received a notice to garnish my wages for an insane amount of money. Almost $300 more monthly than I was paying for the vehicle that was repossessed. Almost $400 more monthly than the settlement that was offered to me and never honored. The money being forced out of my paycheck caused me to fall behind on my mortgage payments. My mortgage company threatened to foreclose and I really panicked. I had to hire attorneys and foreclosure consultants to negotiate with the mortgage company. The mortgage company agreed to restructure my loan and stop foreclosure.

During the course of restructuring, I found out that Ford Credit had not only screwed me in the ways already described, but they had also put a lien on my home! For a lousy $6000 loan that was being paid back monthly. I guess forceably ripping my hard earned money out of my hand every month was not enough.in order to restructure the loan, Ford Credit had to be part of the restructuring since they were a lien holder. I don't have to tell you how any of that went. Again, phone call after phone call from my mortgage company went unanswered by Ford Credit attorneys. My home is scheduled to be sold at auction tomorrow.

Ford Credit finally talked to my mortgage company TODAY after I called and literally had to beg them to do so. It appears that my home is now safe but not until I had to be totally stressed out and worried to death until literally almost the last minute. I have contacted Ford Motor Company board of Directors several times regarding this whole situation. I've gotten nowhere, other than a few letters stating that Ford Credit couldn't possibly have acted in the ways I have accused.

I reported Ford Credit collection attorneys to the Supreme Court Office of Attorney Regulation. I received a nice letter back stating that there wasn't enough evidence on my part to prove that the attorneys acted inappropriately. The attorneys, of course, upon being investigated, made themselves out to look like saints. I'll never, ever own a Ford vehicle again in my life. If anyone out there is thinking of, or already involved in, a class action against Ford Credit, let me know. I'd be more than happy to join in.
