Went to TLE, looking for tires. Needed Questions answered. Asked what was the speed rating the tires I was looking at.

Told that label showed 9XS (X being a number I can't remember) ment that was the speed it was rated for and the S stood for a standard tire.

Asked what about this tire. Told label showed 9YH (Y being a number that I can't also remember, but was about 2 more than X) ment that tire was rated a couble of more mph speed and the H ment High Speed. Tire was about $10 more.

Funny that $10 more only netted you 2 more miles per hour and that was considered HIgh Speed. Warning flagg go off in my head.

Go home. Do Internet search. Found out the numbers were the weight range of the tire and the letters were the rated speed, S being 113mph and H being substantially higher. The letering system goes from lowest (A) to highest (V) except for H falling between T and V (go figure, somebody did'nt like U when they worked out this classification system) H being a fast tire.

Tire was Douglas. Never heard of them before. Told were made by Goodyear. Why not labeled Goodyear. Made by differant plant Goodyear owns. Sell cheaper. For the economy minded. What do they cost? Told $287 plus 9.76 per tire for stems, balance, road hazard. Called Tire Protection Plan. OK, what about manufacturers warranty. Told it's in the plan. What I meant to say is what warranty does Goodyear give that is built into the price of the tire (287 was for 4 tires) so I can figure out how much I'm paying for coverage over and above what Goodyear provides (I.E. Road hazard) Told there is just the plan.

GRRRRR! I go home and search internet for Douglas Tires. No good info. Cant't confirm Goodyear makes Douglas tires. If I could this would be a good tire. Right? E-mail Goodyear. What's the deal? They answer that they make Douglas tire exclusively for Walmart as a "co-brand", as opposed to Goodyear Tires at Goodyear stores "Broad Market" product. Walmart is all that backs up the Douglas tires. And they want me to pay them for it! Emailed back. How much does Goodyear pay Walmart for factory bads? Waiting for answer.

Had gone back to TLE before answer to first email to talk to manager again and asked to see the written warranty. He handed me the sales flyer. That's it?! That'it he says and he is oviously stressed out. He said he was sorry he could not answer questions most people don't even bother to know but they have just opened and are new to the detail I am asking about. He did't want me to think he was an idiot, but he just didnot know how to satisfy me. He said Walmart stands behind the tires and their work.

Told him I didn't think he was an idiot. Good to know that they were standing behind it all, because they want a lot of money for the warranty. Told him what I read at this website makes me think one should have a very healthy "Buyer beware" attitude towards Walmart and ther lack of knowledge and unsatisfactory approach to "CUSTOMER SERVICE". I shall go and find info elsewhere (and probably tires!).

Do google search for "idiot", because I sometimes forget what a word really means. First thing I get is a picture of President Bush. Well, maybe he is not an idiot (the manager). Go to dictionary site for definition. Idiot was part of an abandoned mental health classification system that included imbecile and moron. Idiot was the term used for someone with a mental age of 3. Morons an imbeciles are a bit older. Lets look at "ignorant".
It fits.
