Ripoff Predatory Lende

I became disabled after financing my car through Crescent Bank & Trust, and called to ask if I could change my payment due date as I now receive a benefit check on the first of the month, and the payment is due at the end of the month. I explained I did not wish to be late every month, and this would aleviate that problem.

I was told this should not be any problem, and a customer service representative faxed me an application to request a date change. I returned the fax, and was later told they could not change the date, because "this would alter the terms of he loan, and put the payment schedule off".

I pointed out the fact that they would be receiving their payment EARLIER, not later in the month. I was then late on a payment after this request was denied, and this would not have happened had they worked with me.

I received a call about a late payment from a Crescent employee, who said she could not understand why they would not work with me. She tried to ask her supervisor, and was denied. She seemed confused, because she stated they routinely granted these requests. I now have to pay a late fee of $15.00 EVERY MONTH. They are clearly doing this to make more money off of my misfurtune. At an 18% interest rate, they are getting rich anyway.

I now have to endure a call from this woman every month, even though I have never failed to make any payments, and in keeping with the other reports I see here, I have been threatened with repossession if a payment is not made THAT DAY. She seems genuinely sympathetic and apologizes, but can't seem to get her company to budge. We are now on a first name basis, and simply leave voice mails about the fact my payment is coming, just to cover her from being disciplined.

Of course, upon asking for a lower interest rate, it was denied, because I'm "high risk". Gee, I can pay the obscenely high rate every month, but cannot be trusted to pay a lower rate...

AVoid them at all costs, Predatory Lender!!!
