Bank Of America
Changed due date, late in posting to charge late fee and take away promo rate

Business & Finance

I had a 3.99% promotional rate with Bank of America. They continually change my due date. My bill dates have been due on the 3rd and 4th of every month. I always pay my bill on the first of the month without fail. I am positive they have researched this and took advantage of a way to jack my rate. When I went to pay my bill on January 1st as I always do, I notice it is due on that date so I make the payment at 9am in the morning and they post it on the same day showing payment sent January 1st. Being this is a holiday they do not actually put it through till January 2nd and charge me a late fee of $39.00 and take away the promotional rate and jack it up to 19.99%. I called them and they gave their standard line and said all we can do is "give me" a 50% reduction in the late fee obviously because they are admitting some responsibility but continued to jacked up the interest rate. This is par for the course.

When I checked my due date for February it is now due on the 8th of the month, not the first of the month. I have inquired as to why they keep changing my due date with not a response as of yet. Our credit is in "good" standing, have never been late on any payments yet they find ways to always charge us the highest rate possible. They have said, yes you are a good customer but we have done this across the board.

I do not understand how the government bails out these banks, then allows them to unjustly treat the consumer in this manner. I should have known better, they jacked my rate last year to 28.99% for no reason and I was forced to pay it off.

These banks must be accountable for all this. I have researched and everyone is having the same unjust done to them. Why can't anyone do anything about it, this is just not right.
