I really wish I had found this site before I purchased my car and financed with Drive Financial. I bought my car on June 20. I was told that the first payment was due on July 18. I was told that I should receive a statement in the mail. I never received a statement. I didn't have an address to send the payment. The dealer said I should be receiving it. I called drive Financial on July 15th and they told me to send it via moneygram. I said "Why should I have to pay an extra $12.00 to send it via moneygram if I never received a statement?" They told me that if it didn't get there on time I would be charged $10.00 per day late fee. I said this is crazy. How could I send the money, if I didn't receive a statement and didn't have an address. He said I had thirty days to find out where to send it. I told him that I was expecting to receive a statement (which most companies send out). When I realized July 18th was approaching I started calling around to find out where to send it. He then told me that I wasn't in the system and my account was in transit. I asked if I could do a check by phone and he tole me yes - I would have to pay a $10.98 processing fee. I asked him if he could waive the fee since this is the first payment and I never received a statement. He said no. He was very rude and nasty.

I then went to the car dealer to find out what was going on. He told me that Drive Financial denied the loan and sent it back because they needed a copy of my telephone bil!!! That is why I was not in the system, but, I still needed to make the payment. So, technically, I've been driving around in a car that they did not get paid for yet.

I went home and brought back the telephone bill and my car payment. The dealer said he would send it (the money) to Drive Financial so I could avoid paying late fees or moneygram. I thought everything was fine. But, Lo and Behold, I received a call from Drive Financial on July 21st at 8:00A.M. Stating that they did not receive my payment and it is was 3 days late. I told him that I gave it to the dealer on July 15 and he was going to send it over. I went to the the dealer and he said he sent it over and would call them to find out what was going on. I waited while he called and they kept transferring him to different people. He finally got someone's voice mail and left a message. So far today - he did not call me to let me know anything. I can't believe that everything I've read about Drive Financial is happening to me already. I made a payment and know one knows where it is. Beware of this company.
