Please note that if you are a customer of Fox Chevrolet in Timonium, you better look out because they do not uphold their Privacy Policy when you purchase a vehicle from them.
We purchased a vehicle from Fox Chevy in Timonium in Dec. 2004. A friend gave us a certificate to use for the GM in your driveway to get GM family discount when we purchase this new vehicle. The friend was to receive a $50.00 referral check for sending us to Fox Chevy for the purchase. The check was never mailed to the friend. She continued to call and ask where the check was.
Finally they called and spoke to a Manager on duty, the Manager could not find the sale in the computer so they looked under another name that was a co-owner of the vehicle. The sale was found, plus this Manager proceeded to tell this friend all the personal information in reference to the sale, and also proceeded to tell them what vehicles this co-owner has previously purchased from Fox Chevy in the past. He also brought up another name that was related to the buyer's name and continued to tell them what that person has purchased from Fox Chevy in the past.
We went to Fox Chevy to complain about this release of personal information. We expressed our anger to the finance person and he went to talk to the manager who is in charged of these situations. The manager in charge who was to handle this issue was in a meeting. Imagine that. But the financial person who went to talk to the manager could walk right into this manager's office. So, after a 30 minute wait, we decided to leave since we were seeing that we were getting another run around.
Please get the word out that your personal information that you give to car dealerships may become public knowledge just by making a call. Please see there is no confidential security when dealing with these people. Who can you trust now a days?
