I purchased my Chevy Impala in November and May laterthe engine blew

I purchased a 2000 Chevy Impala in Novemeber 14, I have had problems with the the vehicle since the date of purchase. On Wendesday, May 5 my vehicle stalled on the freeway. I had it towed to Pepboys on Monday, May 10 they called me and advised me that my engine had blown. I know I do not have a case under the lemon law, but I am sure there is something that can be done.
From my understanding I was suppose to get a carfax at the time of purchase, well I didn't. Now I am dealing with porblems that my have already been pre-existing damages that may have been done to the vehicle at the time of purchase. After about 2 weeks my check enigne light came on and I had the vehicle diagnois and the air pump had went out, and the vehicle has not been running right since then.
I need some assistance in the matter. Please Help!
