Totally rude and obnixous www.americredit.com ripoff Texas

I had my truck financed thru Americredit, unknowing at the time, that this company was mainly used by those with bad credit, etc.

Surprisingly, I own a home and already had a car payment thru Household Finance. The car is paid off now, but on with my story.

I was laid off due to my $15.00 per hour job, was outsourced to Manila, P.I.

I continued to make my payments thru unemployment checks. My unemployment ran out in November, so with no income, My payments were late. I did odd jobs to scrape together enough each month.

I was of course getting 3 calls a day from Americredit, demanding payment as my case was in the process of being "reviewed for disposition". This was after speaking to a CSR, explaining my situation and making Western Union paymnets to catch up.

At this time, I'm now 60 days late on payments due to other bills needed to live on, food, etc...

My home is now under a contract for sale. I called Americredit this morning to state my case of having the total payoff amount of $1500.00 at the end of Feb after we go to closing on the house and asked if this would be acceptable (This account has been open since I purchased my truck in 2000.). The VERY rude and obnixous CSR is spoke to stated No, this would not work and either I make a payment now, with her or the truck would be repossessed. After about 15 minutes of listening to this womans crap. I demanded to speak to her Manager, a Mrs Fields. This woman was polite and not at all like the CSR, but did state I HAD to have a payment made by the 1st of Feb, regardless of my payoff plan after the sale of my home. Mrs Fields also stated that my payment history was great, up until the time my unemployment ran out, also, that I was now labeled as "high risk".
So, I contacted my mother who is on a fixed income and she is over-nighting the payment I need, to keep these clowns at bay.

I did ask Mrs Fields, that if I make this payment as she requests, will that allow me to keep the truck until my home closing.

Her reply was no, she couldn't guarantee me anything.
After paying almost 5 years on this account, in good standing, minus a few months of late payments, I feel I shouldn't be treated this way, especially with some of the calls I've gotten by their collection CSR's.
I stated I would even allow them to pull the COMPLETE payoff amount from my account, 3 days after the closing date, this also was not acceptable as it is past the 60 day mark.

If anyone is planning on using Americredit, I would strongly advise against it.

My plans are to make this payment as requested, then move the truck to an ex coworkers garage until after the closing and payment is accepted by Americredit.
